Gawhar Khatoon receives 2018 AIA National Honor Award
2018 AIA Awards – ArchitectureThe 2018 Architecture program celebrates the best contemporary architecture regardless of budget, size, style, or type. These stunning projects show the world the range of outstanding work architects create and highlight the many ways buildings and spaces can improve our lives.The Gawhar Khaton School Project was one of nine winners in the category. The project was the culmination of a partnership among the Janet W. Ketcham Foundation, Sahar, Miller Hull and the UW School of Architecture.Catherine Gelband, Sahar Board President notes: "The Gawhar Khaton School communicates to our girls that we are investing in them, we’re investing in their education, we’re providing them a beautiful place to learn. It communicates that learning is beautiful and it will give not only them, but their country, a future.
