Turning 'Not This Time' Into 'Yes, We Can'
In September, we witnessed something remarkable. When we announced recruitment for the second round of Threads of Hope—a training initiative that equips women with skills in tailoring, basic literacy, and women’s health and empowerment topics—we anticipated strong interest. But what we saw was overwhelming. Over 150 women, filled with hope and determination, lined up to sign up for a chance to learn, grow, and support their families at a center that can only accommodate 50 students. We were inspired by their courage but heartbroken by what followed. With our program at full capacity, we had to turn many of them away. For women already facing so many barriers, being told “not this time” was a devastating blow.
This moment was a powerful reminder of both the urgency of our mission and the immense potential of these women. They are ready to step forward, but they need us—and you—to walk beside them.
Your support makes all the difference. When you contribute to Sahar Education, you’re not just funding a program. You’re opening doors for women who are determined to change their lives. You’re giving them tools to become self-reliant, advocate for their health and rights, and uplift their families and communities. It allows them to turn dreams into tangible change. And it tells them that someone, somewhere, believes in their potential.
With your support, and following the overwhelmingly positive response to the pilot phase of the Threads of Hope program, we were thrilled to expand it in 2024 from a six-month program serving 40 trainees in one center to a ten-month program now accommodating 100 trainees across two centers. However, many more women are still waiting for the opportunity to enroll.
As the year comes to a close, we invite you to help ensure that no woman ready to take a bold step forward is turned away. Your generosity will enable us to expand Threads of Hope, open more learning spaces, and provide the essential resources these women need to succeed.
$650 sponsors a woman for the entire program.
$135 covers a woman’s transportation costs for the full duration of the program.
$95 provides a sewing machine that a woman can use during the program and take home to start her small home-based business.
$65 supports one woman for one month.
Your support isn’t just a donation—it’s an act of hope. It’s a reminder that together, we can create a world where opportunity isn’t a privilege, but a right.
Thank you for standing with us, for believing in the power of education, and for helping us build a future where “not this time” becomes “yes, we can.”
With gratitude and determination,
